In 2016, the second section of the ZellamseeXpress’ above Viehhofen on the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See was inaugurated. On 07.12.2019 the first section will be opened. This creates a comfortable and fast lift ride from Viehhofen to Zell am See.

What advantage does the new connection bring?

Viehhofen is already connected by the easy exit 66 from the large Asitz. The large Asitz can be reached both from Vorderglemm and in the further course from Saalbach and from Leogang. With the new first section of the ZellamseeXpress’ a direct and fast connection of Viehhofen and thus also of the  Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn to Zell am See is created. In addition, the village Viehhofen is upgraded significantly, as the winter sports there so far could use no lift connection.

New gondola convinces with the latest technology and some extras

The 10-person gondola lift with 2,800 persons / hour offers sufficient transport services for the important connection to Zell am See. Each gondola is equipped with Wi-Fi and heated seats. In addition, in some selected Jukeboxx gondolas music from mobile devices can be played. The journey time from the valley station to 865 meters to the mountain station at 1,920 meters is twelve minutes. The 10-passenger gondola is part of the D-Line of the cable car company Doppelmayr. The D-Line impresses with state-of-the-art technology, low energy consumption and pleasant ride comfort.

How do the winter sports enthusiasts from Viehhofen get into the ski circus?

941/5000In the next winter season 2019/20 there is no lift connection from Viehhofen in the Skicircus. Winter sports enthusiasts can return from Viehhofen to Zell am See with ZellamseeXpress. In addition, a ski route leads over the Kaspernalm to the bus stop Förstereck in Viehhofen. This route will be equipped with sufficient snowmaking equipment in the upper area. For the next year, an upgrade of the descent to an official slope with appropriate snowmakers is planned. From the stop Förstereck there is still a bus connection to Vorderglemm. The bus will shuttle between these stations every 10 minutes. From Vorderglemm, the modern 10-seater Schönleitenbahn cable car leads directly onto the Wildenkarkogel, making it an ideal starting point for the ski circus. A lift connection from Viehhofen to the Skicircus is already in planning and is expected to be completed in two to three years.
